LVIVMUN AND MODEL UN
What is Model UN?
Model United Nations (MUN) is a simulation of the United Nations and other international bodies, where delegates take on the roles of diplomats, ambassadors, journalists, NGO agents, renowned experts, and government ministers. These delegates come together to discuss some of the world’s most pressing issues, and work how to address them. To find out more, click here.
Where will LvivMUN 2017 be held?
LvivMUN 2017 will be held in the city of Lviv, Ukraine. The main activities will be happening on the base of Ukrainian Catholic University, the final General Assembly session will be held in Lviv City Hall.
What if I have no experience in Model UN?
Delegates don’t need to have experience in Model UN, or even the field of international relations. Students of all backgrounds and levels of experience are eligible to register for LvivMUN, so long as they have the ambition to learn something new and to meet other like-minded students from around the globe.
However, we invite you to check the level of experience each committee will require, and make your choice accordingly. Committee list with topics and requirements will be available soon here.
Who can attend LvivMUN?
LvivMUN is suitable for students enrolled at higher education institutions, as well for those in their early career. The delegates have to be at least 17 years old to be able to participate.
How much is the conference fee?
You are a chair: the conference is free for you!
You are a delegate: The full fee for participation is 55€. The fee has to be paid during registration and cannot be refunded.
The fee includes:
The four days of conference;
All placards, goodies, and badges;
Certificate of participation;
There is also an option without meals which is 30€.
When will registration open?
Registration for delegations and single delegates for LvivMUN 2017 will open on the until 15th of September 2017.
When is the last date to register?
The final date for delegations or single delegates to register will be the 15th of September 2017.
What is the official language?
English is the official language of the LvivMUN 2017.
What is the dress code for the conference?
The dress code at LvivMUN is western business attire for all committee sessions, and is especially required for the Opening and Closing ceremonies. All clothing must portray professionalism and modesty.
Formal delegate attire for the conference implies dress shirt and pants, suit jacket, tie and dress shoes (for men), and a smart suit or dress (for women). Sneakers, jeans, shorts, caps, sunglasses, and other casual wear are not acceptable during committee sessions.
What equipment is required?
It is advised, but not compulsory to bring laptops to the conference to be able to access timely conference information, participate in committee communication, read about special conference features, and for the ease of information exchange with their fellow delegates and Committee Chairs.
What is the Secretariat?

Who are the committee chairs?
Committee Chairs are students with exceptional experience in Model UN who are responsible for committee proceedings, ensuring the committee runs smoothly and efficiently. Chairs are responsible for knowing the correct rules of procedure and are expected to have a sound knowledge of the topics assigned to their committee.
Where will I eat during the conference?
LvivMUN will provide lunch for all its delegates, who will choose the participation option with lunch during the four days of the conference.
